Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actor, is well-known for her performance in films and on television since the mid 1980s. She has received various accolades including the Golden Globe Award, and sixteen NAACP Image Award. in the television and film business, she is famous for her nominations and awards. Bassett was born at Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by an Aunt and Uncle in New York New York. Bassett as well as her younger sister who were about five years old, made the move from New York to St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the divorced father. Bassett was inspired to become an actor after watching the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones. Yale University New Haven Connecticut was where she earned her bachelor's in African American and master's degrees (1983). She met Courtney B. Vance, a fellow actress at Yale and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in 1980. Master in Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School.
